Photographer. A love of the ocean, adventure and yachting, coupled with natural creative talent have conspired to ensure that Christophe Launay is one of most inspiring photographers to emerge from France in recent years.
Photographically, Christophe is driven by his passions and his portfolio is testiment to this with images ranging from powerful visions of offshore yacht racing, to serene and beautiful underwater compositions.

As a yachtsman, Christophe has sailed around the globe, from Classic Regattas in the South of France to the ill fated Sydney to Hobart race in 1998. Regardless of the conditions, he is dedicated to capturing the adrenalin and action of offshore racing and is capable to taking pictures in even the most challenging conditions. He has worked as onboard cameraman for many offshore events and hopes to bring this expertise and experience to the Volvo 2005, and the Americas Cup 2007.
Christophe trained in photography in Los Angeles and furthered his creative studies in Paris where he worked with Mondino and the critically acclaimed design agency, Janvier for 5 years in the mid 90s.
He is currently based in Australia, where he has been working on his portfolio whilst racing yachts and working as a freelance photographer. He has held several exhibitions in Sydney ; worked on international advertising campaigns, including Rolex ; frequently contributed images to the national press and international press and yachting trades, and his picture of a 49er racing towards the Sydney Opera House was selected as the official image for 2000 Olympic Games Yachting promotion.
